Justin T. Baker, MD, PhD

Justin T. Baker is the scientific director of the McLean Institute for Technology in Psychiatry (ITP) and director of the Laboratory for Functional Neuroimaging and Bioinformatics at McLean Hospital. Dr. Baker’s research uses both large-scale studies and deep, multilevel phenotyping approaches to understand the nature and underlying biology of mental illnesses. A central focus of the Baker lab is to understand how the architecture of the human brain changes as a function of psychiatric illness. Dr. Baker received his MD, PhD from Washington University in St. Louis.

Bryce Gillis

Research assistant

Bryce received his Bacherlor’s in psychology from Wesleyan University in 2022 after studying experimental psychopathology using behavioral and electrophysiological methods. Working in two research labs, he helped with data acquisition and analysis for cognitive, judgment and decision-making tasks and auditory oddball tasks using EEG. Now, he is a clinical RA in the Baker Lab working on longitudinal deep phenotyping studies involving functional neuroimaging and clinical interviewing of patients with major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and related mental illnesses.
